Pushed

I was only 17. I could hear them arguing at the top of the stairs. We all heard them. We all ignored them until we heard the scream as she "fell" down the stairs. We all knew he pushed her. She said she tripped. Who would you believe at 17?

That's when the miracle happened.

People rushed to her aid and helped her back up. He stood at the top of the stairs frozen in shock. Everyone stood beside her and waited until he walked away. I closed my locker door baffled as to why would he walk away from his bruised girlfriend? Doesn't love run to the rescue?

Yes.

Yes it does.

Love does not push another away.

Not Too Far From Here, Lindsay knew and understood the situation she was in. She could push her boyfriend, Jackson, away from her because of what happened at the party. (He raped her best friend while they were both drunk). Breaking up was the easy and justified answer. Even though his behavior was mortifying, she loved him with all her heart. It was an isolated incident and she had to decide if she was going to love him enough to stay and walk through it together or love him enough to let him go.

What would you tell her to do and why?
